Philips launches new range of 3.1 Channel Sound bars

Upgrade your TV with enhanced voice clarity and virtual surround sound for a better cinematic experience. Philips will be releasing two new Sound bars this October, the Philips HTL3160B priced at $399.95 RRP and HTL5160B at $699.95 RRP.

The new Philips sound bars will both feature, a built-in Dolby Digital decoder and Dolby Pro Logic II which provides five channels of sound processing from any stereo source, these provide the ability to produce a virtual surround sound which produces a rich and immersive surround sound from a less than five speaker system.

A dedicated centre speaker is a staple for both Sound bars, the speaker offers improved voice positioning and clarity, increasing immersion in movie. They feature Bluetooth, which allows wireless music streaming as well as the ability to pair with one-touch NFC technology. The HTL3160B has a wireless 5.25” subwoofer with 105W RMS and the HTL5160B has a wireless 8” subwoofer with 200W RMS, which provides the consumer with amazing deep driving bass.

The HTL5160B features Google Cast and Spotify Connect, which provides you with high quality and seamless playback of your favourite music applications. It also has the ability to sync with the Philips Companion app, which aids with Network Set-up as well as making other music applications easier to use.

Another feature of the HTL5160B is the Easy Link which allows you to control multiple devices such as DVD players, Blu-ray players and TV’s ETC. It uses HDMI CEC, which is an industry standard protocol that allows functionality between devices that are HDMI CEC enabled.
