Henry Kloss legacy lives on through KLH

Posted by Powermove Marketing on

After almost 20 years on the (book)shelf, KLH speakers have been reinvigorated and readied for Australia thanks to former Klipsch executives and Powermove Distribution.

Henry Kloss is an iconic legend in the audio industry and not without merit. We have Henry to thank for some of the biggest innovations in audio – KLH Model Eight - the first high-selectivity radio, KLH Model Nine- the first full-range electrostatic loudspeaker, KLH Model Forty- the first consumer product featuring Dolby Noise Reduction, KLH Model Eleven- the first portable phonograph with stereo speakers, just to name a few. Henry later went on to create NovaBeam- the world’s first projection television. He was also one of the first inductees into the CTA Hall of Fame for his many contributions over an illustrious career.

It is with this pedigree that former execs from Klipsch saw their opportunity to bring KLH back to its former position as an innovative, high-quality speaker brand.

David Kelley, President and CEO of KLH, and former President of Global Sales and board member for Klipsch, stated, “When the opportunity to purchase the KLH brand was presented to me, I could not believe my good fortune. KLH is one of the most storied and revered audio brands in the world, founded by one of the most iconic engineers in the history of consumer electronics. I have taken the brand back to its roots, to Henry’s original mission, to build world-class loudspeakers and radios at affordable prices. I am proud to be the new owner of KLH, and will honor Henry and his many contributions to the audio industry through the introduction of our extraordinary new KLH products.”

Australian distributor, Powermove were approached about taking the brand on at CES this past year and couldn’t wait to make the KLH team dream a reality. Powermove’s Audio Product Manager, Ross Kemp, said “The decision to take on the re-birth of such an iconic brand in the scene was an exciting prospect. It’s not the first time we’ve successfully marketed and distributed high-end speakers and KLH’s new leadership team”.

KLH and the Powermove team will be showing off the range to hard launch the range the Australian Hi-Fi & AV Show.

Expect to see the new range in specialist retailers across the country as well as potentially one large retailer later in the year. Find out more: www.klhaudio.com.au.
